Today a growing worldwide awareness toward conservation and the use of regenerative building products is underway. Bamboo has recently been named the green building material for the 21st century. It's easy to understand the responsibility of conservation as the hardwoods of Brazil and the Amazon forests deplete at an alarming pace. While the maturation time for the common oak species is 60 years, the large moso bamboo takes only 6 years to achieve full maturation. The original bamboo plant is left unharmed in the harvest process and quickly regrows for yet another harvest.
Premium Green Color Studio features
No additives: there is a difference. Premium Green Bamboo is produced exclusively using European Dyno brand adhesives. The adhesives are free of components classified as hazardous to the environment. No solvents, heavy metals or bactericides were used in the making of this floor. This Premium Bamboo floor meets or exceeds European Union (more strict than U.S. regulations) Formaldehyde requirements.
Environmentally friendly. From the bamboo itself, to the low-emission glues utilized, Premium Green Bamboo floors are created with minimal environmental impact. There isn't a flooring available with lower environmental impact.
"A" grade "Moso" bamboo. Managed forests of individually time dated and tagged canes that are at the peak of their density, approximately 6 years old, are harvested for Premium Green Bamboo. If harvested any earlier, the bamboo is not as dense; any later and it's in decline.
Construction superior. The edges of our boards are clean and sharp, the surfaces smooth and clear. The layers of our flooring are dense and tightly packed, gap free.
Hand-rubbed stains. This unusual stain application is done entirely by hand. Stains are rubbed on the surface with a soft cotton cloth and then buffed off. This provides grain depth and a translucent stain color versus a painted-on look that hides the beautiful variation of grain and tone.
Durability. Bamboo offers a Hardness rating comparable to that of other species commonly used for flooring such as Oak and Maple. The moisture stability of the product allows for flexible installation methods such as direct glue down over concrete or traditional nail down on a wooden subfloor. Install bamboo in virtually any room in your house.
Finishing Touch. The level of sheen is satin glow. The 11 step finishing process, in which 8 coats of German manufactured Treffic Aluminum Oxide Finish are applied, achieves the finest finish available. Each layer is individually cured with Ultra Violet light. Beautiful finish depth combined with abrasion- and scratch-resistance and No-wax easy daily maintenance results. Q. Does the bamboo flooring come with t-molding and molding to make stairs from as well?

Q. Is the Color Studio bamboo floor solid?
A. Yes, this floor is made up of solid bamboo. This is one of the few flooring products that is also considered engineered. This is due to the physical makeup of bamboo. Many slats are adhered together to make up the solid board of bamboo.
Q. Can I glue this floor directly down to concrete?
A. Yes, this is one of the few solid floors that can be glued directly down to concrete. The other solid floor that can be glued down is the Passport I exotic collection on this site.
Q. What does handrubbed stain mean?
A. The handrubbed staining technique mimics that of the finest wood furniture pieces. A soft cotton cloth rubbing the stain on while another buffs the excess off. All done by hand, this creates a translucent surface with a soft luster and just the right amount of brilliant color to showcase the grain. This technique is time consuming and not often used when staining flooring. Spray on machine applications are the most common and are a less costly way of applying a stain, but they do not produce the same results.
Q. Does this floor float over an underlayment?
A. No, this is a nail down or glue down solid bamboo floor. The engineered floating version on this site is call the Premium Green Color Loft collection, and is available in a variety of stained tones.
The Premium Green Color Studio Bamboo Collection can be installed using a traditional nail down or direct full spread glue down installation method. The Premium Green Color Studio Bamboo Collection can be used over both wooden or concrete subfloors.
