Tips on shopping in the clearance section

Simplefloors clearance section is a combination of discontinued items, overstocked running line items and odd lots.
Below are some helpful definitions of these terms.

Odd lots: A specific quantity of cartons of a specific style. An odd lot will typically be the last of its kind/color or have a unique size specification such as its width or square footage per carton that does not fit into the standard dimensions of the collection or group it belongs too. In this case, the entire "lot" or square footage of the selected sku is put up for sale as a "take all" requirement. You must purchase the entire amount available of a "take all" lot.

Overstocked running line items: There are instances where a significant amount of inventory for a single sku is represented in our warehouse. There are a variety of reasons for this including overestimating the moving volume of an item by our purchasing department or the factory mis-managing the production of a particular color. The end result can be an item that has 6 months or more of run rate inventory. This wrecks havoc on inventory turns. Overstock items are often running line items that we deeply discount to stimulate movement until the inventory level returns to a 1 month run supply in the warehouse for that particular item and then the price is returned to standard and the item is removed from the clearance section.

Discontinued items: One of the things that separates simplefloors industry standards is our particular attention to color and fashion trends. We always have a warehouse full of the freshest colors and styles in high design hardwood floors. We also discontinue certain items, styles and colors long before their shelf life. Many of the styles in the discontinued section simply did not meet our requirement for volume movement. All are first quality manufactured to to our exacting standards.
