Description: African Hickory features a densly packed with a fine linear grain type. Its popularity is derived from both its pleasing and almost translucent brown surface tone and its depth enhancing grain patterns. The occasional bands of flowing color variation indicate the African Hickories relation to the lighter American Hickory species. The darker grain striping ranges from longer streaks to a shorter dotting effect, the latter similar in appearance to the Brazilian Cherry Species. Color Change: African Hickory will undergo a minimal amount of color change to a slightly richer brown tone over time while maintaining the dark graining throughout.
