The art and reason of French Bleed edge darkening treatments
Chattered Delfino spans design themes from traditional to modern. This
hand contoured 1/2 thick flooring plank not only is a diy easy
installation option but it features an Edge stained French Bleed
treatment. Combining exotic species such as teak, Hickory and Rosewood
with the newest chattered hand distressing techniques and the 4 sided
stained edges creates unique grains and unrivaled dimension that can
only be appreciated once fully installed. The high end edge darkening
treatment outlines the full 6" width of the Chattered Delfino plank.
Machine versus Hand applied techniques
The majority of the edge darkened options have horizontal machine
applied bands of deeper stain color rolled onto the surface of the
plank
itself, near the edges. While the machine method is quicker to produce,
it is visually cheating. Only hand applying stain at the 4 actual hand
carved edges vertically (not on the surface) can create the depth and
outline of each plank achieved by the original French Bleed Staining,
available in the Chattered Delfino collection.
Treffic® soft matte 11 step German manufactured no wax finish
is used for an heirloom furniture quality finish. Mild chattered edges
and rolling lines provide graceful texture to the finest decors. The
