Acorn solid oak plank, a solid 3/4" premium grade oak floor. When it comes to solid Oak flooring, many grades are available. Although surprisingly comparable in price to #1 or #2 "common grade" oak floors, the Acorn series proudly features "Select" grade oak. For over a century, the term "Select" has been an official grading term for wood floors. Its simple origin began in earlier times with mill workers who would "select" and separate freshly cut planks from the most preferred parts of the logs. These specially chosen planks were then used in the manufacturing process to produce the preferred "Select Grade" floors. The tradition continues with the Acorn Select Solid Plank series.
Acorn Select is in stock and available in many popular tones.

Unmatched durability of the finishing touch. The Acorn Series ISO factory certified 11 step finishing process uses 8 coats of German manufactured Treffic Ultra Violet cured Aluminum Oxide Finish. Beautiful finish depth combined with abrasion and scratch resistance results. Your solid new floor can be installed and walked on the same day. Today's No-Wax prefinished floors install with no sanding mess, no chemicals and are simple to maintain. A slightly cantered micro-Beveled edge gives lineal detail to each plank and improves the depth and texture of any room. The preferred slightly wider 3 1/4" profile and traditional random length planks make this floor a sure fit.
Once installed a traditional 3/4" thick solid wood floor becomes a part of the home and its traditions as time passes. Beyond its original 25 year finish warranty, Solid wood floors can be sanded and refinished providing, in many cases, centuries of service. Considering its original cost and term of service, a wood floor is arguably the least expensive floor you can own.

The Acorn Select Solid Oak Plank installs using the traditional nail down method over a wooden subfloor. Installing a traditional nail down, prefinished floor is a project for both the Do It Yourself homeowner or a professional flooring installer. Using a 15 gauge nail and Pneumatic Flooring nailer, the nail is driven in at an angle through the top of the tongue. Placing the groove of the next plank over the tongue conceals the nail.
