- Thickest available: The Anthracite collection features a 12mm total thickness. This is the thickest and quietest laminate floor available.
- Higher Density, less denting: Anthracite utilizes an HDF, High Density Fiberboard, core which results in greatly improved resistance to denting. This has an advantage over an MDF, Medium Density Fiberboard, core typically used in the construction of floors at this price point.
- Aluminum Oxide protected: The Anthracite collection is coated with an Aluminum Oxide finish, the most durable finish available to date. Guaranteed for 25 years, this provides for a low maintenance, no wax floor that will look great year in, year out.
- Stately style: The Anthracite collection features high quality non-porous laminate top decors for improved grain appearance.
- Stability: The fused, non-porous laminate back balancing board helps prevent warping and cupping of the laminate plank.

Q. Do the Anthracite laminate floors require special care because they are glossy?
A. The finish is the same on the Anthracite Collection as the other laminate flooring options. The finish is Aluminum Oxide and requires no additional maintaining. The level of gloss has been increased to a glassy brilliant luster. This is the only collection we have with this gloss level.
Q. I noticed the Anthracite Collection is thicker than most laminates. Is the 12mm thickness measured with a combined attached underlayment?
A. The Anthracite Collection is 12mm thick. There is no underlayment attached to this collection. The thickness is measured on the floor itself, not including any underlayment.
Q. Does the higher gloss mean it will scratch easier?
A. Yes and no. It will not scratch easier but when scratches do occur they will be easier to see. Essentially, scratches show up more on a shiny surface than on duller surfaces.
Q. Can the Anthracite Dura-Gloss Collection be used on an exterior deck that is covered with a roof (open walls)?
A. No, the Anthracite Dura-Gloss Collection is for use indoors only, no exterior installations are approved.
Q. Is the Anthracite Dura-Gloss Collection used on stairs?
A. Yes, using the matching stairnose peices (8' long sticks) you can install the product on stairs.
Q. Does the Anthracite Dura-Gloss Collection have matching floor, stair, and wall trim?
A. Yes, you will find a list of available trims at the individual color level.
Q. Do I have to use a moisture barrier with this floor when installing over a concrete subfloor?
A. You will use an underlayment with a moisture barrier attached when installing over concrete. If you are using an underlayment without a moisture barrier already attached you will need to purchase a separate moisture barrier (plastic sheeting that comes in rolls) and install this over the concrete prior to rolling out the underlayment.
Q. If I damage a plank, can I uninstall and reinstall a new one in its place later on?
A. Yes, the Anthracite Collection utilizes a 45 degree locking system that can be un-locked and re-locked later if needed.
Q. Does this collection have the individual planks with beveled edges?
A. Anthracite does have individual planks but a microbevel is not used with this floor. Anthracite is constructed with square edges.
The Anthracite Dura-Gloss Collection features a glueless locking tongue and groove for faster, less messy installations. This collection can be installed using the floating installation method. Anthracite Dura-Gloss can be used over most subfloors including wooden, concrete and even existing vinyl or tile.
